We are Italian. As Italians, everything we do revolves around family. In our family, food is crucial because it brings us together and keeps us healthy. Food defines us; it’s in our DNA.
Pets hold a very special place in our family. We love to see our pets happy, and we believe nutrition is pivotal to improving their quality of life. This motivates us to develop the best food possible for our beloved four-legged friends.
Nature is the greatest source of ingredients in the food we produce. By serving the most nutritious food, we can effectively nourish pets from their first days with their families through senior age. Nature is our inspiration. Science is our method.
A HISTORY OF INNOVATION.
Family values permeate our history which began in Italy over 50 years ago. In 1965, Mr. Francesco Russo founded the Russo Mangimi company which specialized in animal nutrition. During this time, Mr. Russo raised his children and passed on his values and passion for animal nutrition. Over the years, his family and company continued to grow.
In 1999, Dr. Angelo Russo, son of the owner Francesco, shifted the company’s focus to operate in the pet food industry with a new perspective. He aspired to develop foods based on scientific studies focused on the well-being of pets.
Dr. Russo began this arduous journey by collaborating with Farmina, an English company specializing in food research and formulation. With a positive customer response, the company began investing more in technological research and development. It also provided the opportunity to partner with leading independent research institutes, such as the chair of Nutrition and Animal Nutrition of the University of Naples Federico II.
Dr. Russo then established Farmina Vet Research, a team of veterinarians and nutritional formulation specialists. The team has developed long-term relationships with dozens of independent veterinarians in order to provide a constant systematic study of the best foods for the physiological nature of pets.
Today we are united by the same dream: to give our pets long, happy lives.

Science guides our actions, which is why we established a working relationship with the Chair of Animal Nutrition at the University of Naples Federico II. Clinical findings are developed and led by public entities to ensure scientific validity and are the basis for our food formulation. During our collaboration, many of our lines of research were published in high bibliometric scientific journals. The cooperation between Farmina and the University of Naples Federico II gave life to Farmina Vet Research whose purpose is to research and formulate new food based on the latest scientific findings.

The perfect union between nature and science led to our revolutionary line of clinical Veterinarian Food, Farmina Vet Life and our Natural & Delicious Grain-Free (without cereals) and Low Ancestral Grain (with only ancestral grains- spelt and oats) food lines designed for a carnivores nutritional needs.
A NUTRITIONAL SYSTEM FOR CARNIVORES THAT’S SCIENTIFICALLY DESIGNED ACCORDING TO NATURE.
Years of scientific research in collaboration with the Chair of Animal Nutrition at the University of Naples Federico II led the Farmina Vet Research group to formulate a nutritional system designed for the nature of our four-legged family members. Natural & Delicious Low Ancestral Grain contains limited ancestral cereals (spelt and oats) and is comprised of 60% high-quality animal ingredients, 20% organic spelt and organic oats, and 20% vegetables, fruits, vitamins, and minerals.
N&D Chicken, spelt, oats and pomegranate recipe is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages including growth of large size dogs (70 lb. or more as an adult).

Due to multiple entities which include the factory as well as the warehouse, we're unable to fully manage stock. The stock levels may fluctuate at any time. Please be aware that it is possible that your order will be out of stock after you have made the order.
Our policy is valid for 30 days. If it's been longer than 30 days since you bought the item We're sorry to say that we can't offer you a full exchange or refund.
